Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida 2011 Arts Ballet Enhanced staging of "The Nutcracker"
Arts Ballet Theatre will serve patrons in Broward County with enhanced performances of "The Nutcracker" at the Parker Playhouse on December 17 and 18, 2011.

Miami City Ballet Program IV. "Romeo and Juliet"
Miami City Ballet will present 4 performances of the Company premiere presentation of John Cranko's "Romeo and Juliet" as the season's centerpiece at the Broward Center, April 29, 2011 - May 2, 2011

Miramar Cultural Trust "Dancing Through Barriers"
Miramar Cultural Trust will feature the Dance Theatre of Harlem, performing "Dancing Through Barriers" for a weekend in late January or early February 2011. itian-born, Miami based contemporary artist Adler Guerrier will create a new site specific exhibition exploring life in Hollywood and Broward County.

Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra A Romantic Night of Opera with Rima Medici Tawil
Famed opera star and La Scala graduate, Rima Medici Tawil, will join Ars Flores for a Music for Munchkins concert in the morning and a general audience concert in the evening on March 26, 2011.

Broward Performing Arts Foundation Jean Yves Thibaudet - A Solo Piano Recital
Renowned pianist, Jean Yves Thibaudet, will perform a solo recital, providing a memorable evening of classical entertainment, at the Broward Center on February 7, 2011

Florida Grand Opera Jacques Offenbach's "The Tales of Hoffmann"
Jacques Offenbach's "Tales of Hoffmann", which is oft-described by music scholars as one of the grandest and most expressive examples of 19th-Century French opera, will be presented at the Broward Center on February 10 and 12, 2011.

Florida Youth Orchestra Spotlight Family Concert 2011
160 young FYO musicians, will perform the Spotlight Family Concert, which includes full symphonic repertoire along with chamber music and solo presentations, for children and adults at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on March 6, 2011.

Gold Coast Jazz Society 2011 Winter Season of Jazz
This project will include 7 jazz concerts at the Amaturo Theater, Broward Center, 1 free outreach jazz concert at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, and free jazz education performances for students in local Broward schools.

Master Chorale of South Florida Performance of Giuseppe Verdi's "Requiem"
The acclaimed 125-member Master Chorale of South Florida will perform Verdi's
"Requiem" on March 25, 2011 in the Amaturo Theater, Broward Center.

Old Dillard Foundation Cannonball Jazz Series
Local musicians will present 4 cabaret style jazz concerts at the Old Dillard Museum. This series honors the small bands that were organized by Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, who was a school teacher at the historic site in the last 1950s.

Symphony of the Americas Symphony of the Americas Classics Events
Symphony of the Americas will present 5 Guest Artist Subscription Performances between January 25 and November 22, 2011 at the Amaturo Theatre, Broward Center and the Broward performances of Summerfest 2011 July 15 - August 30, 2011.

The Girl Choir of South Florida "Sense and Nonsense"
Musical settings of poetry and verse will be explored from the serious to the nonsensical. This interactive multicultural program will be held at the Amaturo Theater, Broward Center on May 14, 2011.

City Theatre 16th Annual Summer Shorts - America's Short Play Festival
This festival features comedies and drama, exciting and enriching shorts for children and families, and a late-night series with political and provocative material reflective of our times. The series will be held at the Epstein Center for the Arts at Nova University School June 30-July 3, 2011.

Fantasy Theatre Factory Cultural Arts Programming for Community Audiences Project
Family audiences in Broward venues that include Broward theatres, libraries, and after-school sites, will enjoy 30 cultural arts theater performances from January through December 2011.

Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre "Disney's Geppetto and Son"
A new musical adaptation of Pinocchio featuring songs from the classic film will be 4 performed at the Dillard Center for the Arts from May 13 through May 15, 2011.

Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts Lovewell Theatre Project Presents "Let There Be Balloons"
Lovewell Institute presents a 5 performance musical that tells a story of chaos and change in a family and a town held at the NSU Performance Theatre January 1 - February 13, 2011

Mosaic Theatre Making a Difference in 2011
Mosaic Theatre's performance season will feature a World Premiere play along with fresh plays that will challenge and entertain our diverse Broward community January 1 through July 30, 2011.

The Association of Performing Arts of India Chitram: A Portrait of Indian Culture
Chitram, produced and directed by Kanniks Kannikeswaran, is a powerful multimedia musical theater production that explores the diversity of the Indian Diaspora. It will be held at the Miramar Cultural Arts Center on April 02, 2011.

The Women's Theatre Project Southeastern Premiere of "Eclipsed" and South Florida Premiere of "Sunday on the Rocks"
These two theatrical works honor women and their survival. There will be 32 performances held at Sixth Star Studios February 2011 through May 2011.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood Christina Lei Rodriguez Gallery Exhibition
Miami-based Christina Lei Rodriquez will create sculptures and site-specific installations which contrasts growth and decay in a dramatic assemblage of colorful forms. This three-dimensional work will be held in the main gallery of the Art and Culture Center from April 22, 2011 until June 5, 2011.

Broward County Film Society / FLIFF FAB! Films for Kids
Free movies for young audiences followed by a Q&A with a hands-on or live performance activity will be shown at the Cinema Paradiso the first Saturday of each month January through December 2011.

From birth to death, this photographic exhibition depicts seven thematic components to explore how the key events of life are celebrated and honored in different cultures throughout the world, May 1 through September 1, 2011.

Young at Art Children's Museum The Jim Henson Legacy!
The genius of Jim Henson will be celebrated through video, photography, puppets and visual and performing art-based programs June 10, 2011 through August 28, 2011.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood and Lisa Rockford The She-Monster Sideshow
Lisa Rockford will feature her neon-colored 6 feet by 3 feet banner paintings which are inspired by 1950's B-movie posters and presented in the style of carnival sideshow April 22, 2011 through June 5, 2011.

Children's Cultural Arts Programs

The following programs are being funded by a special $20,000 grant from BankAtlantic



Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida 2011 Arts Ballet Children's Outreach
Students in 4 Broward Schools will be treated to excerpts from the scheduled main ballet performances through the Arts Ballet Goes to School program. These performances will be held one or two weeks prior to the main performances January through December 2011.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood Family Performance Series
This is a series of 5 free and low-cost theatrical performances that will include an interactive educational component involving the artists and the children. Performances will be held at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center monthly from January to May 2011.

Broward Performing Arts Foundation Broward Center Family Fun Series 2010-2011
"Family Fun" is a literature-based series designed to expose younger children to live theater performance while promoting early reading. This series will include 24 performances held at 4 Broward venues from January through May 2011.

Fantasy Theatre Factory Children's Cultural Arts Program at Amaturo Theatre
Fantasy Theatre Factory will provide 10 free theater performances of "Little Monster Tales", for third grade students bused from Broward schools to the Broward Center. Performances will be held in October, 2011.

Gold Coast Jazz Society JazzSLAM - 2011 Jazz Education Program
JazzSLAM, is a live jazz education program, for 4th and 5th grade students that integrate jazz with critical thinking skills and strategies for test taking. The performances will occur at 10 Broward schools January through December 2011.
