“Dancing Through Barriers”

Miramar Cultural Trust will feature the Dance Theatre of Harlem, performing “Dancing Through Barriers” for a weekend in late January or early February 2011. Haitian-born, Miami based contemporary artist Adler Guerrier will create a new site specific exhibition exploring life in Hollywood and Broward County.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida
2011 Arts Ballet Children’s Outreach

Students in 4 Broward Schools will be treated to excerpts from the scheduled main ballet performances through the Arts Ballet Goes to School program. These performances will be held one or two weeks prior to the main performances January through December 2011.
Art and Culture Center of Hollywood
Family Performance Series

This is a series of 5 free and low-cost theatrical performances that will include an interactive educational component involving the artists and the children. Performances will be held at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center monthly from January to May 2011.
Broward Performing Arts Foundation
Broward Center Family Fun Series 2010-2011

“Family Fun” is a literature-based series designed to expose younger children to live theater performance while promoting early reading. This series will include 24 performances held at 4 Broward venues from January through May 2011.
Fantasy Theatre Factory
Children’s Cultural Arts Program at Amaturo Theatre

Fantasy Theatre Factory will provide 10 free theater performances of “Little Monster Tales”, for third grade students bused from Broward schools to the Broward Center. Performances will be held in October, 2011.

JazzSLAM, is a live jazz education program, for 4th and 5th grade students that integrate jazz with critical thinking skills and strategies for test taking. The performances will occur at 10 Broward schools January through December 2011.
