Samson et Della, the only opera of the season to open in Fort Lauderdale. Sung in French, the second most frequently spoken foreign language in Broward County.
Miami City Ballet Program II 2007
Program II to include Agon by Stravinsky/Balanchine, Afternoon of a Faun by Debussy/Robbins, Liturgy by Part/Wheeldon, and In the Upper Room by Glass/Tharp. Balances modern and classical ballet for widespread appeal. Liturgy and In the Upper Room will be company premieres.
Young at Art Children’s Museum Five Friends from Japan
Explores the cultural similarities and differences between Japan and the U.S. Augmented by hands-on programs exploring traditional and contemporary Japanese art and artists including Mori, Murakami and Yoko Ono.

Gold Coast Jazz Society 2007 Winter and Spring Season of Jazz Five main stage performances of classic jazz works with free performances for children and Jazz outreach performances for the public free of charge.
Inside Out Theatre Company Equity Mainstage Season
The season will feature two equity mainstage productions with timely themes to stimulate personal and social change.
Association of Performing Arts of India Shakti Dance Company
Experts in Bharata Natyam style of classical Indian dance, the Shakt Dance Company will portray sacred Hindu stories demonstrating their eternal relevance and universality.

Coral Springs Museum of Art International Sculpture Symposium Part II
two artists from Asia and South America will create permanent sculptures for the Museum’s Peace Garden. Artists will work on site outside the museum and be available to visitors throughout their creative process.
Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale Chicano Visions: American Painters on the Verge
Exhibit to feature paintings by 26 Chicano artists from the collection of Cheech Marin that express diverse heritage with visually artistic political and social statements.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice
Exhibition features the work of three photographers focusing on women’s contradictory roles and their grasp of beauty, duty and time.
Bailes Ferrer Flamenco Concert Series
Flamenco concert series promoting Spanish and Flamenco dance as an art form based on tradition, history and experimentation. Series includes Flamenco In the Sun 2007, an evening-length flamenco ballet.

Project will enable professional visual mural artists to work with high school students to create a public street side mural located at 503 NE 13 Street in the Oakland Park area.

Works designed to demonstrate the validity and salience of urban funk style dancing. The project seeks to dispel preconceived notions of urban funk and deconstruct the stereotypical ideas about performers of this dance style.

Photojournalist Colby Katz creates impressions of the world of child beauty pageants. Focuses on the impact these competitions have on children and families, particularly mothers.
ArtServe A Visualization of Validation
Photographic project by Irwin Weintraub honoring and depicting Broward police and fire/rescue personnel as they recall on-the-job experiences that helped them validate their career choices.
Ballet Gamonet Maximum Dance Life in Dance: Magic Behind the Curtain
Visual documentary of a dancer’s life behind the stage curtain in a photo-naturalistic style, Josephine Cardin will capture dances in their element in classes at rehearsal and backstage.
