Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida
2011 Arts Ballet Improvements to “The Nutcracker”
Arts Ballet Theatre will serve patrons in Broward County with enhanced performances of “The Nutcracker” at the Parker Playhouse on December 17 and 18, 2011.

Association of Performing Arts of India
Fusion of Flamenco and Kathak.
APAI will host a unique fusion-dance performance of Flamenco and Kathak dance performed by renowned dancers Clarita Filgueiras and Syed Talut at the Amaturo Theatre.

Trey McIntyre Project
Two innovative performances from The Trey McIntyre Project, spanning rock, classical, jazz, bluegrass and folk will be presented on March 2 and 3 at the Amaturo Theatre.


Miami City Ballet
Jerome Robbin’s In the Night
Miami City Ballet will perform contemporary choreographer Jerome Robbins’ In the Night, a ballet featuring three couples at distinct stages of romance, dancing to Chopin nocturnes at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra
Stories in Music and Dance

Ars Flores will perform 3 ballet works including the U.S. premier of La Doncella by Venezuelan composer Alberto Grau, as well as Manuel DeFalla’s Ritual Firedance and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. The ballet will feature evening and children’s concerts to be performed at Nova Southeastern University’s Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center.


Florida Grand Opera
Charles Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette

Florida Grand Opera will stage the South Florida premiere of the Minnesota Opera production of Charles Gounod’s Romeo at Juliette, featuring exciting visual projections with performances on May 10 and May 12, 2012.


Florida Youth Orchestra
Spotlight Family Concert 2012

FYO’s Symphony and Repertory Strings divisions, made up of 160 young musicians, will perform the Spotlight Family Concert for children and adults at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on March 4, 2012.


Gold Coast Jazz Society
2012 Winter Season of Jazz

The Gold Coast Jazz Society presents it’s 2012 Winter Season of Jazz including 5 mainstage jazz concerts, 12 free jazz education performances for local students, and a free jazz outreach performance to perpetuate and advance the cultural art form of jazz.

Seraphic Fire, Inc. Seraphic Fire Broward Season 10
In association with the Firebird Chamber Orchestra, Seraphic Fire will present 5 spring concerts of under-performed choral and orchestral works ranging from Gregorian chants to the music of living American composers at the All Saints Episcopal Church.


Old Dillard Foundation
2012 Cannonball Jazz Series

Old Dillard will present the Cannonball Jazz Series, a cabaret-style mini jazz concert series featuring regional and nationally-known musicians, to honor the late legendary jazz saxophonist Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, a former teacher at the historic site during the late 1950s.


Symphony of the Americas
Symphony of the Americas Classics Events

Symphony of the Americas will present 5 Guest Artist Subscription Performances  throughout 2012 at the Amaturo Theatre at the Broward Center, including a special presentation at Summerfest 2012.


The Girl Choir of South Florida
“Sun, Moon Stars”

The Girl Choir of South Florida will present Sun, Moon, Stars, featuring choral work that reflects on the human fascination with all things celestial on May 12, 2012 at the Amaturo Theatre, with special previews held at the St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.

17th Annual Summer Shorts – America’s Short Play Festival

City Theatre will present the 17th season of Summer Shorts – America’s Short Play Festival featuring a groundbreaking program of short plays, a new family musical and an edgy late-night series of provocative material.


Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre
“The Neverending Story”

A new theatrical adaptation of the beloved novel The Neverending Story will be presented in 5 performances at the Dillard Center for the Arts between March 9 and 11.


Mosaic Theatre
Making a Difference in 2012!

Mosaic Theatre will present its 11th season at the black box theatre at the American Heritage School, featuring a world premiere play along with fresh plays directly from New York that will challenge, entertain and continue to educate the South Florida community.


The Women’s Theatre Project
Southeastern Premiere of “The Sex Habits of American Women” and “Blind Spots”

The Women’s Theatre Project will present two Southeastern U.S.premieres:  The Sex Habits of American Women, a serio-comedy examining sexual morality and gender roles, and Blind Spots, a black comedy about sibling rivalry, family and passion.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood
Phillip Estlund: Subprime/Subtrpoics

Contemporary visual artist Phillip Estlund will exhibit sculpture and two-dimensional collages that inhabit the psychological and physical terrain left behind by man-made disasters in Subprime/Subtropics, as well as curate Portraits of Paradise, a salon-style exhibit featuring select artists and non-artists from March 16 through May 27.


Coral Springs Museum of Art
Artist in Residence – 2012 Artist as Mentor

The museum’s Artist in Residence 2012 – Artist as Mentor, will feature sculptor Lothar Nickel and introduce 12 high school students to sculpture with carrara marble. The project will take four to six weeks and will include events for the students and the community.


Girls’ Club
Re-Framing the Feminine
Girls’ Club will present Re-Framing the Feminine, an exhibition of photographic works from the Girls’ Club collection of contemporary art by women, that will revitalize thought on the relentless transformation of photographic media and the driving force of feminine imagination behind and in front of the camera.

Offering of the Angels: Paintings & Tapestries from the Uffizi Gallery

MOAFL will present the U.S. premiere of Offering of the Angels, a 4-month exhibition of Renaissance masterworks from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.


Young at Art Children’s Museum
Pablo Cano’s Marionette Exhibition & Puppet Theatre

YAA will create Pablo Cano’s Marionette Exhibition & Puppet Theater, a magical infusion of recycled puppetry-making, performance art, film and music, where families design and perform with their own puppets, view Cano’s process and meet the artist during special performances.

Art and Culture Center of Hollywood and Christina Pettersson
From the South Pacific to the Seven Seas

In collaboration with the artist Christina Pettersson, ACCH will present an exhibition of drawings and video which merges fantasy and history to explore Florida’s allure as a tropical oasis, from February 3 to March 4.
