Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra Ars Flores Young Artist Concerto $8,000 Ars Flores Young Artists Concerto Competition and Winners Concert – Ars Flores, the official Resident Symphony Orchestra of NSU, will open the Final Round of the Concerto Competition in the Performing and Visual Arts Wing of NSU, and hold one evening concert and a FREE Music for Munchkins concert at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center.
Association of Performing Arts of India Sarod Concert featuring Alam Khan $4,500 APAI is hosting a powerful musical performance of “Sarod” (fretless lute) performed by renowned international sarod player Alam Khan. This program of sarod will demonstrate spiritual music tradition from India.
Classical South Florida* Symphony of the Americas – South Florida Sound $4,500 Classical South Florida will produce and air a one hour broadcast of “Symphony of the Americas: South Florida Sound” on 89.7 and 90.1 FM. Selected recent performances at the Broward Center, as well as an interview of Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese will be broadcast.
Florida Grand Opera Mozart’s The Magic Flute $8,000 Florida Grand Opera will stage the Canadian Opera Company’s whimsical play-within-a-play adaptation of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in January and February 2013 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Florida Youth Orchestra Spotlight Family Concert $8,000 FYO’s Symphony and Repertory Strings divisions, comprised of 165 gifted young musicians, will perform one performance of “The Spotlight Family Concert at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. Grant Partner: Casa D’Angelo Ristorante
Florida Singing Sons Boys Choir* FSSB Spring Concert $7,500 Florida’s Singing Sons will perform their Spring Concert at the Parker Playhouse. This is one of 3 annual performances that are the culmination of the training experience of the Singing Sons program.
Gold Coast Jazz Society 2013 Winter/Spring Season of Jazz $6,000 The 2013 Winter/Spring Season of Jazz will include 5 mainstage jazz concerts and jazz education performances at the Amaturo Theater and outreach performances at ArtServe, Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art and the Coral Springs Museum of Art.Grant Partner: Nova Southeastern University
Master Chorale of South Florida A Performance of Mass of the Children by John Rutter $5,000 The MCSF, in celebration of their 10-year anniversary, plans a performance of Rutter’s “Mass of the Children” by John Rutter, with symphony orchestra, directed by Dr. Karen Kennedy.
Old Dillard Foundation Cannonball Jazz Series 2013 $5,700 2013 Cannonball Jazz Series – The Old Dillard Foundation, Inc. will present 3 mini concerts at the Old Dillard Museum and 1 full concert that celebrates the birthday of legendary jazz musician Julian “Cannonball” Adderley (a teacher at Old Dillard in the 1950’s) at the Amaturo Theater. Seraphic Fire Seraphic Fire 2013 Broward Season $11,000 Seraphic Fire, South Florida’s Grammy nominated professional chamber choir and the Firebird Orchestra, SF’s professional instrument ensemble, will present 5 concerts of underperformed choral and orchestral works at All Saints Episcopal Church. Symphony of the Americas Symphony of the Americas Classics Events $12,500 Symphony of the Americas will present 5 Guest Artist Subscription Performances throughout 2013 at the Amaturo Theater and special performances in Broward at Summerfest 2013. The Girl Choir of South Florida The Beauty in Everything $8,000 The Girl Choir of South Florida will present 2 concerts of “The Beauty in Everything”, one at the Amaturo Theater featuring all their choruses, and a second performance at a smaller venue featuring only the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida Firebird $7,000 Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will perform 3 performances of “Firebird”, with music of Igor Stravinsky and choreography by Vladimir Issaev. at the Amaturo Theater featuring new costumes and set/props
Broward Performing Arts Foundation Pilobolus $10,500 The Broward Performing Arts Foundation will present 2 performances of Pilobolus – a revolutionary modern dance company that was established as a college classroom project – at Parker Playhouse.Grant Partner: Leslie Brown Memorial Fund
Miami City Ballet Symphonic Dances $10,500 Miami City Ballet will present a minimum of 3 performances of the 2013 Broward Premier of “Symphonic Dances” at the Broward Center. “Symphonic Dances” is a large scale ballet by Alexei Ratmansky, commissioned by the Miami City Ballet.Grant Partner: Peck Foundation

City Theatre Summer Shorts $7,800 City Theatre will present the 18th season of “Summer Shorts”: 11 performances at the Amaturo Theater of 6-10 original plays and an original full-length family musical based on a book by Katie Couric.
Fantasy Theatre Factory Fantasy Theatre’s Cultural Arts Program for Community Audiences $7,000 FTF will provide 35 performances of various plays, 10 of these free of charge, for families at 26 Broward locations including the Amaturo Theater.Grant Partner: Beaux Arts
Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre Legally Blonde The Musical $7,200 FLCT will present 8 public performances of “Legally Blonde the Musical” at their Studio Theatre at the Galleria Mall.Grant Partner: BankAtlantic
Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts The Gloaming $5,000 Lovewell Theatre Project will present 5 performances of a new, collaboratively written musical: “The Gloaming” at a yet to be determined venue.Grant Partner: Alice and Joe Smith, in honor of Connie Folz
Mosaic Theatre Making a Difference in 2013! $8,000 Mosaic Theatre will present its 11th season at the black box theatre at the American Heritage School featuring a world premiere play along with fresh plays directly from New York that will challenge, entertain and continue to education the South Florida community.Grant Partner: Northern Trust
