Community Recognition: Haitian Heritage Month

The Broward County Film Society and LBV Films presents the locally produced documentary “Dual Citizen”. The film is a personal voyage of filmmaker Rachelle Salnave and her father’s quest for for their Haitian citizenship. The film won the Louies Award,  an initiative of the Miami Film Festival.

Prior to the film at 6pm – Music and samplings of Haitian cuisine.

About the film  (7pm) – DUAL CITIZEN is a humorous and heartfelt documentary about one father’s reluctant effort to help his daughter reclaim her Haitian citizenship — even if it means confronting a past he thought he left behind.

After the film:  Filmmaker Rachelle Salnave will discuss the making of the film.
