Visual Arts Grants
VISUAL ARTS MATTERS
FAB’s grants promote artistic expression and create inclusive spaces. FAB SUPPORTS community-based visual art initiatives, SUSTAINS the creation and exhibition of high-quality visual art works, and ENCOURAGES the growth of talent in our visual art community.
“Beyond its essential lifeblood of funding for the arts, FAB has played an essential role in building an audience of arts advocates through its various enrichment programs and in empowering its members to conduct the institutional reviews for the grant proposals. It has been a guiding light for Broward's philanthropic community and a shining example of how every individual has the power to effect positive change when working collectively as a group. Most importantly, FAB has never swayed from its mission and has grown in ways that will perpetuate its support for generations to come. Thank you FAB for your dedication to the arts and community.”
-- Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale
The grants we recently received from FAB! couldn’t come at a better time. They will support a series of art exhibitions scheduled for the year 2025 that cover multiple media, from projections and laser cut paper, to fabric art installations, to a celebration of street art culture and graffiti.

Who FAB Serves in the Visual Arts Community
Non-Profit Art Museums and Galleries
FAB funds non-profit entities like NSU – Museum of Art that curate and present high-quality visual art exhibitions, as well as organizations like ArtServe that support local artists through multiple interesting exhibitions each year.
Educational Programs
Many of FAB’s visual arts organizations also participate in student enrichment programs. In 2025, Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, Coral Springs Museum of Art, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, and Young at Art have received FAB grants to support the development and execution of programs designed to introduce visual arts to children.
Broward’s Growing Film Industry
FAB grants have helped support the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. In addition, a grant to Fort Lauderdale’s Children’s theatre helped support their launch of the Film Academy at FLCT.
Public Art Programs
FAB funds public art programs that bring visual art into public spaces, making art accessible to the broader community and providing a sense of place to the residents that live within the community.
Cultural Institutions
FAB funds cultural institutions like the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood that offer a variety of visual art experiences for children and families. Their interactive programming provides opportunities for children to both see and produce art, ensuring an appreciation for arts and development of future artists.
How FAB has impacted the Visual Arts Community
Financial Support
FAB provides crucial financial assistance to visual arts organizations which help cover curation, packing and shipping, artists’ fees, and other expenses. This support allows them to produce exceptional exhibitions.
Stability and Growth
Our consistent funding has provided stability for visual arts organizations, allowing them to plan for the future and pursue long-term growth. This stability has enabled many organizations to expand their programming and increase their impact on the community.
