ARTS EDUCATION MATTERS
FAB’s grants promote artistic expression and create inclusive spaces. FAB SUPPORTS community-based art enrichment programs for public school children, SUSTAINS high-quality art skills training by arts organizations working with public school children, and ENCOURAGES the artistic growth and appreciation of art for Broward’s children.
Why FAB Supports Arts Education
Enhance Cognitive Development
Multiple studies confirm the positive impact art has on a child’s development. Students with access to quality art skill education have higher test scores in both math and english. FAB provides grants to arts organizations that teach music skills and the art of the spoken word in the school setting.
Promote Social Development
FAB believes every child in Broward County should have the benefits arts education brings – an increased sense of self, empathy and confidence. FAB’s grants promote a child’s sense of community.
Arts Education Equity
FAB supports arts education to the most disenfranchised children attending Title 1 schools. FAB’s grants support art organizations that expose children to art performances and exhibitions with support from the Broward County School System’s Student Enrichment Programs.
Promote Creative Learning
Arts education fosters creativity and critical thinking. FAB grants provide resources to non-profit arts organizations to teach concepts and subjects through the lens of music, theatre, and dance within the school setting.
Enhance Cultural Enrichment
By supporting arts education, FAB enhances the cultural fabric of the community, bringing diverse and enriching educational experiences to students K-12.
Create Inclusive Learning Opportunities
FAB aims to make arts education accessible to all children, regardless of background or experience, through funding inclusive and community-based educational initiatives.
Who FAB Serves in the Arts Education Community
The Children of Broward County
and the parents of those children that want their child to thrive. Art engages children’s senses in open-ended play and supports the development of cognitive, social-emotional and multisensory skills. As children progress into elementary school and beyond, art continues to provide opportunities for brain development, mastery, self-esteem and creativity.

How FAB has Impacted Arts Education
Financial Support
FAB’s crucial financial assistance allows schools and arts organizations to implement high-quality arts education programs. This funding helps sustain their operations and cover artist teachers, program costs, materials, and other expenses.
