Our Key Achievements

21 Years of
Service:

Celebrating over two decades of making visual and performing arts grants to arts organizations serving Broward County.

Funding the
ARTS:

Over $5 million granted to 77 visual and performing non-profit arts organizations since 2003.

Record Grant
Pools:

FAB made $385,000 in visual and performing arts and arts education grants in 2024 -- a record amount -- followed by granting another $400,000 for programs to be done in 2025.

Enriching the
ARTS:

FAB published a comprehensive yearlong research project on the state of the arts in Broward County; data was widely shared with arts groups, public sector officials, community and business groups to encourage financial support, advocacy, and collaboration among the groups.

Arts
Education:

In 2021, FAB began supporting arts education programming. As a result of the “Enriching the Arts” report highlighting the gaps in arts education in the public schools, FAB awarded two 3-year Arts Access grants to Art Prevails Project and South Florida Symphony Orchestra totaling $300,000 ($150,000 each).

Trust in
Grantmaking:

FAB streamlined its grant process based on a key finding in the "Enriching the Arts" report to consider the time constraints on most arts organizations and make the grant application process less cumbersome.

New Arts
Access Grants:

In 2024, FAB created a new Arts Access grant to help expand arts education in Broward District Schools. It marked the first time that FAB awarded a multi-year grant and provided upfront funding. It also marked a first-time funding collaboration done in partnership with the Community Foundation of Broward.

FAB Goes
Public:

FAB is funding a public art pilot project that focuses on the intersection of art and technology. The timeframe is January through April 2025 and is being staged in partnership with the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, The Parker venue, and Mad Arts.

Arts
Advocacy:

FAB began an effort in 2024 to create a broader, community-based Broward Arts Advocacy Group. The need for a stronger collective voice for the arts was another key finding coming out of the "Enriching the Arts'" report.
