Dance Arts Non-Profit Organizations

FAB plays a crucial role in supporting the dance community in Broward County. In addition to supporting Broward County’s talent, our grants help bring more diversity to the community by supporting organizations across South Florida that travel to Broward County to perform in our community. Through our support, these organizations enrich our community with a diverse range of ballet, modern, and multi-cultural dance performances.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida

Mission: To create, for the enjoyment of the community, professional ballet productions. Art Ballet Theatre provides accessibility, community involvement, education, and training for professional and pre-professional dancers.

Key Performances: The Arts Ballet Theatre has performed a variety of classical and neoclassical pieces, including The Nutcracker, Prokofiev and Ravel, Nocturne, Paquita, and Una Danza Para Ti.

Education and Support: Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida offers educational outreach programs that enhance the understanding and appreciation of classical ballet, among the South Florida community, allowing people of all ages and the community to experience the joy and magic of live ballet and music. These programs include: Vladimir Issaev School of Classical Ballet (ballet classes for children), Art Ballet Goes to School (K–12 in thirteen public schools), Dancing with Disabilities, Summer Intensive Program: The Classical Ballet Seminar of Russian Technique, and various Teachers Workshops.

Dance NOW!

Mission: Dance NOW! Miami’s mission is to be a leading company of excellence, to create, promote and produce contemporary dance of the highest caliber, and through performance, arts education, community leadership and innovative programming, nurture new talents, foster artistic collaborations and make the art of dance accessible to diverse audiences locally, nationally and internationally.

Key Performances: Dance NOW! hosts a diverse array of major projects each year, including proscenium performances at South Florida’s premiere theaters, featuring original works from Baumgarten and Salterini, created both independently and in collaboration, as well as the Masterpiece in Motion series.

Education and Support: Dance NOW!’s Educational Outreach has reached over 60,000 students since its inception, through a variety of programs including its Dance in Public Schools residencies with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Children’s Trust and performances at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex as part of the Miami-Dade County Public School’s Cultural Passport program.

Miami City Ballet

Mission: Miami City Ballet’s mission is to produce and present the highest level of dance performances throughout Florida, the United States and abroad, train young aspiring dancers, and develop Miami City Ballet School into a leader of dance education.

Key Performances: The Miami City Ballet has put on iconic performances of classics including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, La Valse, Nine Sinatra Songs, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker®, and West Side Story Suite.

Education and Support: Miami City Ballet School provides superior dance training for all ages and every level. The school develops confident and versatile classical ballet dancers able to master any style and execute any technique at the highest level. Throughout the year, MCB Students are offered unique audition opportunities to perform in Miami City Ballet productions.

About: Founded in 1988, the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Ballet Theatre originated with a mission to promote the remarkable achievements and talents of its young company members and inspire growth for the future of dance in our community. Renowned for its family friendly full-length productions showcasing spectacular scenery, professional costumes, and exciting sets and lighting, the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Ballet Theatre showcases the talents of young dancers from all over the Broward County area. FLCBT’s beloved ballet fairytales include Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Coppélia.

Music Arts Non-Profit Organizations

FAB plays a crucial role in supporting the multi-cultural community in which we live through our grants to music arts organizations. Our music art grants help organizations reach new audiences and innovate. They encourage collaboration amongst each other to expand their reach into new communities.

Brazilian Voices

Mission: Rooted in the richness of Brazilian culture and its fusion with American jazz, we sing to uplift, educate, and promote wellness and healing. Through performances in diverse venues and healthcare settings, we build bridges of harmony within our community and beyond.
Cultural Essence: Brazilian Voices was created as a result of the need for expression of people living in a foreign land who appreciate music, art, poetry and Brazilian culture in general. An authentic combination of factors brought together the common interests and stories of immigrants in South Florida to the sound of their female voices, translating the essence of the Brazilian soul.

About: Brazilian Voices, a non-profit organization, is a women’s vocal ensemble that performs at cultural community and philanthropic events. Brazilian Voices aspires to incorporate the best of Brazilian culture throughout the world.

Chopin Foundation

Mission: The Chopin Foundation’s mission is 1) to assist young, talented American pianists in developing their careers as international concert artists; and 2) to make classical music, and above all the music of Frederic Chopin, accessible to everyone.

History: In 1975, and in collaboration with the University of Miami’s School of Music, Mrs. Blanka Rosenstiel presented the First National Chopin Piano Competition of the United States (“National Competition”) in Miami. Its success inspired Mrs. Rosenstiel to establish the Chopin Foundation of the United States (“Chopin Foundation”) which was incorporated in 1977. The Chopin Foundation continues to present the National Competition every five years. The 10th edition of the National Competition took place in Miami, February 22 – March 1, 2020.

Embrace Music Foundation

Mission: The mission of Embrace Music Foundation is to restore, preserve, and fortify the impact of music — education, appreciation, and performance — in schools and communities, and to amplify its role in the development of children and families.

Music has become vulnerable and endangered by its removal from school curricula. Through programs such as Rhythms of Africa/Music Around the World, Embrace Music Foundation unites children with musicians, instructors, and local business and community leaders to keep the arts alive and vibrant, offering youngsters opportunities to appreciate music in new ways, and to discover alternatives to craft their careers and lives.

Rhythms of Africa: As music and the arts disappear from school curricula, limiting opportunities for young people to study and participate, Embrace Music Foundation will battle back. Willie Stewart: Willie Stewart, Chairman/Co Founder of Embrace Music Foundation, was the principal drummer and percussionist for the international supergroup Third World, the reggae ambassadors of Jamaica. With an illustrious career spanning 23 years as its principal drummer and percussionist, Willie co-produced 13 albums, 5 of which received Grammy nominations.

Florida Grand Opera

About: Florida Grand Opera is an historically significant producer of opera. The oldest performing arts organization in Florida and the seventh oldest opera company in the United States, it was founded in 1941 by Arturo Di Filippi as Greater Miami Opera, which merged with The Opera Guild Inc. of Fort Lauderdale in 1994 to become Florida Grand Opera.

Key Performances: FGO’s historic 80th season included a 20th century work (André Previn’s A Streetcar Named Desire), a 21st century work, (Gregory Spears’ Fellow Travelers), a classic Verdi opera (Rigoletto), and an innovative production of a baroque opera (Handel’s Agrippina). The season included four different theaters for the mainstage operas and over 80 events.

Education and Support: Florida Grand Opera’s Studio Artists spend up to two years in South Florida, where they polish their craft, build their body of work, study and perform key roles, and forge important connections that will sustain them throughout their careers.

Florida Singing Sons

Mission: Florida Singing Sons aims to provide: A superior musical experience for especially talented students, thereby enriching their lives through the pleasures of singing and the joys of song. In the attainment of both, they will learn the self-discipline necessary to achieve this goal. A group experience in which our choristers may relate and develop strength of character and richness of personality. THE COMMUNITY WITH A SOURCE OF PRIDE IN THE TALENT AND PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT OF ITS YOUTH.

History: Since 1975, Florida Singing Sons has provided quality musical training to the boys, and now also girls, of South Florida. Our choir has been recognized internationally, performing alongside world-class ensembles. We aim to provide top-tier training, all while giving our students experiences they’ll remember forever!

Florida Youth Orchestra (FYO)

Mission: FYO’s mission is to educate, inspire and build the self-esteem of musically gifted and at-risk students to become productive, caring and responsible adults and to uplift South Florida’s diverse community with quality music performances.

Key Programs and Workshops: The FYO curriculum includes: Principal Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Repertory Strings, Chamber Strings, Silver Strings, Alpha Strings, iPlay, and Flute Choir.

Education and Support: Having reached thousands of students and South Florida residents as the only regional arts organization for children, the Florida Youth Orchestra continues to provide vital education while serving as a valuable cultural resource for South Florida.

Fushu Daiko

About: Founded in 1990, Fushu Daiko is a South Florida based, taiko drumming ensemble, delighting and energizing the South Florida community through dynamic performances, concerts and workshops. And continually enriching our community by teaching the art of taiko. We have traveled to and performed in Germany, Brazil, New York City, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, San Francisco, Seattle, and during the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.

History: Fushu Daiko’s founders, Yoshiko and Charles Cane, were a couple who practiced traditional Japanese dance and theater. After seeing a taiko performance at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, the Canes began building taiko drums at their home in Plantation, FL and training with taiko masters Seiichi Tanaka, founder of San Francisco Taiko Dojo and Takemasa Ishikura, founder of Matsuriza and Orlando Taiko Dojo.

Gold Coast Jazz Society

Mission: The mission of the Gold Coast Jazz Society is to perpetuate and advance the cultural art form of jazz through performances, education and outreach activities.

Key Programs and Events: The Gold Coast Jazz Society’s Jazz Concert Series is an annual event featuring a diverse lineup of performances that showcases everything from classic jazz standards to innovative contemporary pieces. The organization also hosts free social events, mixers, and student jazz musician jam sessions.

Education and Support: The Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Program annually grants a limited number of scholarship awards to vocal and instrumental music students wishing to pursue an education in music with an emphasis in jazz studies. Scholarships are awarded to assist with college or university tuition or to assist with tuition fees and associated expenses for students attending summer jazz camps.

Hued Songs

Mission: Hued Songs produces experiences that amplify black joy, black creativity, and black belonging. Though song, spoken word, dance, and heart, our work is rooted across three core principles: To provide a platform on which black and brown artists can be seen, heard, and paid. The arts are a right and not a privilege, thus we work to remove cost, geography, and perception barriers to every performance; Every performance is an opportunity to build belonging, empathy, and community for all.

Master Chorale of South Florida

Vision: To inspire and engage diverse audiences in South Florida and beyond through the transformative power of extraordinary choral performances.

Mission: To present concerts of choral music ranging from the classical masterworks to contemporary and commissioned compositions at the highest level of musical excellence; to be inclusive in all aspects of the organization; to unite and inspire audiences across generations and cultures; and to enrich the cultural lives of audiences and singers through performance, education and community engagement.

Brett Karlin, Artistic Director and Conductor: Leading performances praised as “intense, richly detailed…polished and well-crafted” (Miami Herald), “finely nuanced and expressive” (South Florida Classical Review), and “integrating choral and instrumental sonorities with clarity and impact” (Palm Beach Arts Paper), Brett Karlin has established himself as a dynamic conductor of choral-orchestral masterworks. Having worked with a wide variety of ensembles, Karlin is a passionate performer of large-scale symphonic masterpieces, while equally at home with historically informed performances of distinctive Baroque repertoire.

Seraphic Fire

Mission: Seraphic Fire presents the highest quality performances of historically significant and under performed music and advances art through the professional development, refinement, and documentation of our musicians’ talents while promoting community connectivity through educational programs.

Key Programs and Workshops: Seraphic Fire has 7 mission-driven education programs with offerings for students of all ages, from elementary school to the life-long learner; Seraphic Fire Youth Initiative, High School Master Class, High School Professional Choral Institute, Ensemble Artist Program, Scholar Lectures, Pre-Concert Conversations, and University of Miami,

Notable Achievements: In 2008, the organization recorded its first album, and has since gone on to record 16 full-length albums. In 2012, the ensemble was recognized with 2 GRAMMY® nominations for its recordings A Seraphic Fire Christmas and Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem. Two of the organization’s recordings have debuted in the top 10 of Billboard’s classical chart.

South Florida Chamber Ensemble

Mission: The mission of the South Florida Chamber Ensemble is to harness the power of music and other arts for education, mental health and wellbeing.

Vision: To serve the community through a series of classical programming and educational initiatives; create and implement unique interactive arts integration programs for all ages and ability levels that combine education, arts, and sports; include the music of unsung composers, including female composers, composers of color, composers with disabilities, and American composers with a specific focus on local living composers in our concert series; and educate our audiences about the composers and the stories behind the music they wrote.

iLUMA (Inter-generational Literacy Using Music and Art: iLUMA (inter-generational Literacy Using Music and Art) is an arts integration program designed to use music, art, dance, and world culture to improve reading comprehension, listening and memory skills in VPK students, k-2, 3-5 students with disabilities, nonnative speakers of English (Programs are given in English, Spanish or both.

South Florida Pride Band

Our Purpose: While the band has definitely grown and changed throughout the years, one thing remains constant. Our primary function is to entertain audiences in South Florida and support the community through our various performances.

History: In 1986 Mort Jonas and Bruce Freeman decided to form a musical group for the gay and lesbian community in South Florida after connecting with the Lesbian and Gay Band Association (LGBA). Together Mort and Bruce created the band that over the years has gone through two name changes, several artistic directors and many concert venues.

The South Florida Pride Bands have had the great honor of hosting the annual convention of the LGBA six times. The most recent conference, “Fiesta Caliente”, was held in 2014 and featured a concert band of about 250 musicians onstage at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ AuRene Theater.

The Concert Band, Tropical Winds Band, Jazz Band, Youth Band, and Marching Band produce two major concerts per year at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The bands regularly share the stage with local performers and believe strongly in supporting local talent. The Concert Band has enjoyed collaborating with the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus, Lambda Chorale, In Harmony, MCC Sunshine Cathedral Choir, and the Florida Singing Sons Boychoir. Along with these local collaborators, singers, dancers, special lighting, and video presentations all add to the bands’ large-scale productions.

The Pride Jazz Ensemble is also very active in the community, playing at several events yearly. Most recently, they had the honor of playing at a fundraising event where former President Bill Clinton was the guest speaker.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra

Mission: Our Mission is to: Delight, Inspire & Educate the communities we serve through music.

Key Performances: South Florida Symphony Orchestra has performed some of the world’s most iconic works, including one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony; Brahms’ arousing Symphony No. 1; Bernstein’s ode to New York City, “Three Dance Episodes” from the hit Broadway musical On the Town; and Stravinsky’s spellbinding Firebird Suite.

Symphony of the Americas

Symphony Society’s Mission: To encourage and promote the growth of the cultural interests, education goals and activities in the fine arts according to the guidelines of the Symphony of the Americas. The Society will help provide the personnel to staff the campaigns and to help execute the plans and policies of the Symphony of the Americas.

Education and Support: Since its inception, The Symphony has collaborated closely with local non-profit organizations and municipalities to present outreach concerts and educational programs. The Symphony has also served as a cultural bridge to audiences in Latin America and Europe through the internationally renowned Summerfest Series. The six-week cultural exchange program traditionally featured musicians and soloists from acclaimed orchestras throughout Europe, including Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Opera Orchestra of Bulgaria, Mission Symphony Orchestra of Switzerland, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and others

The Girl Choir of South Florida

 

Mission: Transforming Girls’ Lives Through Musical Excellence

About: Coming together to create beauty in the world transforms everyone involved. The Girl Choir of South Florida provides a safe space for girls and young women to hone their skills and share their voices, while connecting with others and making lifelong friendships. Finding that our collective effort and sacrifices can, in time, yield stunning moments of musical excellence is a most important experience, one that shows us all we can achieve when we work hard. When we lean into the vulnerability inherent in singing and performing, we become aware of all that is possible when we let go of fear and self-consciousness.

History: Founding Artistic Director, Wallis Peterson, incorporated the Girl Choir of South Florida (GCSF) in March 2005 with the belief in the ability of choral singing to make a positive difference in girls’ lives and a strong desire to show South Florida’s audiences the artistry of young musicians. In August of that year, a few dozen girls attended the first class of the Girl Choir at the auditorium of ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale. Currently, over 80 girls ages 6 through 18 from over 20 cities throughout Broward County rehearse with Artistic Director, Sylvia Aycock, and her staff at GCSF’s headquarters in Fort Lauderdale and at the GCSF satellite in Coral Springs.

Theatre Arts Non-Profit Organizations

FAB plays a crucial role in supporting theatre arts organizations in Broward County. Our grants provide these organizations with the financial assistance needed to produce high-quality productions, develop innovative programs, and pay artists salaries. Through our support, these organizations enrich the community with a diverse range of performances in both large and small theater settings.

Art Prevails Project

Mission: Art Prevails Project aims to strengthen communities, particularly underserved and historically disadvantaged ones, by investing in people through literary and performing arts.

Types of Performances and Events: The organization has staged over 20 original theater productions and performed at more than 60 community events.

Community Engagement and Educational Programs: Art Prevails Project has facilitated creative arts, poetry, and performance workshops/classes for over 1,500 students in South Florida, partnered with various impactful organizations, and provided platforms for hundreds of rising performing and visual artists to showcase their work.

Broward Center for the Performing Arts

Mission: The Broward Center builds community through the arts by delivering quality entertainment, educational opportunities, and memorable moments that engage and inspire audiences, nurture collaboration, and drive economic vitality.

Major Performances and Events: Pippin: Summer Theater Camp Production, International Ballet Festival of Miami, Brett Goldstein Comedy Special.

Community Outreach and Educational Programs: The Broward Center hosts classes, camps, and intensives, school programs, teen programs, internships, scholarships, and adult and educator programs.

Developing Dreams Foundation

Mission: The Mission of Developing Dreams Foundation (DDF) is to assure that no child is left behind socially, academically, or economically by providing quality training and experience in art careers through innovative programs and performance opportunities.

What We Do: Developing Dreams Foundations (DDF) is a not-for-profit organization that provides a variety of professional performing arts opportunities to aspiring artists whose upbringing can be from less-than-ideal surroundings and support systems. From offering an array of performing art classes and seminars to providing performance opportunities, DDF is known for the development of young performing artists. Not only helping at-risk children when they are young but also giving them a future by providing consistent work opportunities, DDF supports and enhances the lives of all types of artists throughout all stages of their careers. DDF finds it vital to not only help these young, aspiring artists, but to consistently teach, support, and motivate them throughout their careers and most importantly, their lives.
For the Youth: In addition to performance opportunities, DDF provides quality after-school classes that include advanced level training in a safe, constructive environment. Intensive training courses are held in 8–12 week sessions. All classes are limited in size to achieve the most productive and effective training environments for each student. Due to limited class size and immense demand by future artists, these classes’ admission is based on audition only.

Fantasy Theatre Factory

Mission: Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theater established in 1978, dedicated to providing high-quality theatrical productions and arts-in-education programs.

Types of Theatrical Productions: FTF produces over 500 programs annually, reaching more than 150,000 people across South Florida and internationally.

Educational and Community Programs: FTF offers over 22 high-quality Arts-in-Education Theatre Shows for young audiences and runs a summer camp at the Sandrell Rivers Theater in Miami

Florida Children’s Theatre

Mission: Teaching the art of life through the magic of theater.

Key Performances and Programs for Children: Each year, FLCT produces a season of five mainstage productions and offers year-round classes in acting, creative drama, and other theater-related skills.

Impact on Youth Development and the Arts Community: FLCT impacts over 25,000 individuals annually through arts and educational outreach programs, summer camps, and performances, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts among young people.

About: Inside Out Theatre is a 501(3), not-for-profit organization created in 1998 to address social and community concerns, connect and vitalize communities and build character. We believe the theatre is a significant instrument to access important truths about our society and ourselves and can be a powerful tool for positive transformation.

Island City Stage

Mission: To produce plays and musicals that compel audiences and artists to expand their views about relationships, values, issues, and history.

Overview: Island City Stage promotes LGBTQ+ themes and stories through its theatrical productions, contributing to a more inclusive and understanding community.

New City Players

Mission: To create community through transformative theater.

Vision: To help South Florida become a more empathetic and thoughtful community.

Notable Productions and Events: A Streetcar Named Desire, All My Sons by Arthur Miller, Jazzy Fridays (live jazz), Saturday Spirits (themed drinks with the cast after every Saturday show).

Community Engagement and Educational Initiatives: New City Players focuses on fostering empathy and thoughtfulness through engaging theatrical productions and community events.

About: Theater is essential. Art is essential. Storytelling is essential. Plays Of Wilton Inc. at The Foundry, a non-profit under the direction of Ronnie Larsen, is an LGBT arts production organization focused on theater and storytelling in multiple mediums.

Slow Burn Theatre Company

Mission: To showcase the best of contemporary musical theater to South Florida by producing high-quality shows and supporting local creative professionals.

History: Slow Burn Theatre Company opened its first show, Bat Boy: The Musical, in February 2010 and has since produced 52 full-scale musicals.

Key Productions and Performances: The theater company produces a variety of contemporary musicals, providing a platform for local talent to shine in a nurturing and rewarding environment.

Mission: Founded in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in 2010, Thinking Cap Theatre (TCT) is a professional, non-profit company that champions equality and theatrical experimentation and strives for excellence on and offstage. TCT is devoted to staging thought-provoking, socially conscious, formally innovative theatre and to gender and sexual parity in programming. TCT also presents community-based programs such as documentary theatre projects, play readings, and playwriting workshops. Across all programming, TCT strives to reflect and serve our diverse society.

Vision: Thinking Cap Theatre is devoted to being a leading theatre company in the South Florida region and a recognized creative home for new and emerging playwrights.

Art and Culture Center/Hollywood

Mission: The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood cultivates creativity and the support of the arts in our community through education, innovation, and collaboration.

History: Founded in 1975 as the only visual arts nonprofit in south Broward County. The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is located in what was originally the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kagey, a founding family in Hollywood. ArtServe

Mission: ArtServe inspires, supports and advances our diverse members, artists, and community by promoting artistic development, education and prosperity through the exploration and presentation of the visual and performing arts.

Artist Services and Support: The Program supports a community of artists who have a demonstrable history of arts outreach. With a focus on community building and process development, the Program strives to make a positive impact beyond that of art-making.

Coral Springs Museum of Art

Mission: To engage and connect our diverse communities with dynamic exhibits, exceptional art education, stimulating specialty programs, and inspired events to ignite cultural enrichment.

Educational Programs and Workshops: CSMOA offers art education programs for all, regardless of age or skill level. These programs and workshops are taught by local artists and include ceramics, drawing, painting photography, and mixed media.

About: Established in 1986 by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) reels out more than 150 American Indie and international films, during the annual film festival held each November. During the festival, celebrity and filmmaker guests from around the world create an aura of excitement as they arrive at their red-carpet premieres, attend over-the-top parties, and greet movie-goers. FLIFF also programs the latest American Indie and international films daily at Broward County’s only year-round arthouse theaters, Savor Cinema (Fort Lauderdale) and Cinema Paradiso (Hollywood).

NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale

Mission: To provide exceptional opportunities to access, learn from and be inspired by the highest level of visual artistic expression throughout time and from around the world.

History and Collections: Founded in 1958, its permanent collection contains over 7,500 works and is known for its significant collection of Latin American, contemporary art with an emphasis on women, Black and Latinx artists, and African art that spans the 19th to the 21st-century.

Community Outreach and Education: The Teen Art Council empowers teens to build leadership, networking, critical thinking, and professional skills while exploring their artistic passion and building their portfolio. NSU supports educators and k–12 with its Museum on the Move program, offering free access for school trips.

Arts Education Non-Profit Organizations

FAB’s expansion into arts education in 2021 has helped arts organizations across all art disciplines reach more children in our most disadvantaged Title 1 schools. FAB provides crucial support for programs using art as a teaching tool, allowing students to see a live performance or visit a museum for the first time in their lives, and artistic skill training from an array of artists teachers through programs like Symphony in the Schools, Write it Out, Speak Your Peace, and Music Steps. FAB is proud to support the arts education programs of over 20 of our Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts organizations listed above. In addition to those organizations, we are excited to provide support to the following arts education focused organizations.

Evolutionary Art Life Foundation

About: Evolutionary Arts Life Foundation serves talent rich youth ages 6-18 from communities where arts education is underfunded in South Florida, with a focus on Black, Hispanic, and underrepresented students who lack access to high-quality performing arts education. We provide training in theater, music, dance, digital arts, arts entrepreneurship for students with skill levels- from beginners to those preparing for professional careers.

Additionally, we support young adults transitioning into creative careers through mentorship internships, leadership development and industry exposure. We help them develop successful and sustainable pathways in the arts.

Founded: The artistic visionaries of Northern Miami-Dade County, the Cidel family opened the doors to Evolutionary Arts Life in the summer of 2017 with a group of students that were interested in growing beyond what was available at their local public schools…

Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts

Mission: To provide interdisciplinary arts-based programs that empower people from all cultures and economic backgrounds to find their authentic voice through the collaborative creation and performance of an original work of theater.

Key Programs and Workshops: Lovewell Institute conducts workshops worldwide, creating over 227 original shows and 3,405 original songs since 1989.

Impact on Youth and Creative Arts Education: The institute’s workshops have transformed thousands of lives, empowering students with confidence and fostering deep, lasting bonds within the cultural community.

Volta Music Foundation

Mission: Nurturing Lives Through Music – Volta Music Foundation’s mission is to provide students in underserved communities with the opportunity to advance their musical careers through a variety of educational programs and talent development opportunities.

Leadership: Yalyen Savignon, Executive Director
Born in Havana, Cuba, Yalyen Savignon began playing the violin at eight and the piano at ten at the Conservatorio de Música Guillermo Tomas. She continued her education at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory. After arriving in the United States, she has performed with many symphonies orchestras in the state of Florida, including the New World Symphony, Alhambra Orchestra, Miami Lyric Opera, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Treasure Coast Symphony, Symphony of the Americas, and Vero Beach Opera.

She won the Lynn Concert Competition 2015 at the Lynn Conservatory of Music, where she completed her degree in Violin Performance. As the Executive Director, Yalyen oversees all the artistic and executive strategies through which Volta Music Foundation expands access to classical music education in The United States and other Latin American countries.

Mission: YAA’s mission is to enrich our community through artistic, interactive experiences for all ages which inspire creativity and encourage an understanding of the world in which we live.
