FAB Sponsored Program: New City Players Presents: Burst

July 23 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

A Southeastern Premiere!
Directed by Elizabeth Price

This funny and piercing play takes place over one 90 minute period as the CEO of the tech company Tactix (whose goal is to eliminate plastic from the earth), dukes it out with a particularly tough reporter and her waffling CTO. Confronting topics like corporate responsibility, climate change, and women in tech, this play puts a crosshairs on some of our most important contemporary cultural conversations.

Opening Night Reception (July 11): Kick off the run with community, conversation, and celebration with the cast and creative team immediately following the performance.

Weekend Wine Downs (July 17, 18 & 25): Grab a glass of wine  and dive deeper into the play’s themes of ambition, corporate responsibility, and the promise of saving the world — with the people who made the play, right after the show.

Sunday Talkbacks (July 12, 19 & 26): Join the cast and creative team for engaging post-show conversations — including a special talkback with visiting playwright Rachel Bublitz on July 12, and a closing night conversation with Nadine Mullings, President of the National Association of Women Business Owners, on July 26.

The Lobby Experience: In collaboration with Wild Bloom Society, the lobby becomes part of the show — featuring an evolving poetry exhibition, interactive reflection prompts, and a communal wall where you can add your own thoughts before or after the performance. Submit a pre-show reflection here and join the public installation.

Poets in the Public Square (July 25): In collaboration with Wild Bloom Society, local poets bring original works inspired by Burst off the lobby walls and onto the stage for one night only.
