ARTS EDUCATION MATTERS
FAB offers grant funding to arts organizations that provide programming both within and outside Broward County schools. These grants support a variety of initiatives aimed at enriching artistic expression and fostering appreciation for the arts among children and communities.
Why FAB Supports Arts Education
Enhance Cognitive Development
Multiple studies confirm the positive impact art has on a child’s development. Students with access to quality art skill education have higher test scores in both Math and English. FAB provides grants to arts organizations that teach music skills and the art of the spoken word in the school setting.
Promote Social Development
FAB believes every child in Broward County should have the benefits arts education brings – an increased sense of self, empathy and confidence. FAB’s grants promote a child’s sense of community.
Arts Education Equity
FAB supports arts education to the most disenfranchised children attending Title 1 schools. FAB’s grants support art organizations that expose children to art performances and exhibitions with support from the Broward County School System’s Student Enrichment Programs.
Promote Creative Learning
Arts education fosters creativity and critical thinking. FAB grants provide resources to non-profit arts organizations to teach concepts and subjects through the lens of music, theatre, and dance within the school setting.
